The Start of Residency

It has been quite a change having Craig at work EVERY day (i know... we have been spoiled), so Emalyn and I have been staying busy!  Thankfully, we have a wonderful neighborhood pool, a public splash pad down the street, and new and old friends to hang out with!  Here are a few things we have done in the last week and a half!
We saw Pop and the rest of the Uganda  team off on Saturday.  Emalyn has really missed talking to Pop!  We love hearing about the incredible things God and this team are doing in Uganda... I love the people in those sweet villages and so enjoy the details of their team emails!

Emalyn got to ride in her first toy jeep :). Sweet Luke was so patient with her wanting to touch everything!

On Wednesday of last week, Emalyn went to her first movie!  Temple movie theater does a cool $1 summer movie thing once a week, so I figured we didn't have anything to lose (even though I figured she would only make it about 20 minutes). Here we are buying our tickets.

And Emalyn getting settled in her seat :)

I know you can see very well, but to give you an idea of what our movie experience looked like...
Emalyn stayed in her seat about 20 minutes and we then fed Emalyn and Blake popcorn and anything else we could to keep them occupied for the rest of the movie :). We left as the movie was winding down, but overall, she did great!

Emalyn has started enjoying the crayons at restaurants.

She is very proud of herself :)

We have done some swimming and splashing...

Pulled some weeds with daddy after work...

Read some books...

Played in the backyard...

Last year I did a Busy Bag Swap with a few friends and a bunch of ladies I didn't know... Basically, each mom is assigned an activity to make 18 (or however many people are participating) of the same activity that fits in a zip lock bag. In the end, you 'swap' and get one of each activity! They are appropriate for different ages... So I just pulled out a few of the ones Emalyn might be able to start doing.  She LOVES this one with the 'dots'!

Lastly... Emalyn has started laying down... Anywhere... Everywhere... Because it is funny!?  Not really sure... But I find it funny enough to take a picture most times!
