Dates, Dates, and More Dates!

Friday, Craig had the day off, so we celebrated with breakfast at Megg's Cafe!  Delicious breakfast and great morning with my sweet husband and baby girl.

Ready for my breakfast date!

As you can see... Her purse goes everywhere with her right now.  We have to make sure we have our phone in case we get an important call!

Friday afternoon, Mimi and Pop came to visit!  We went out on the boat with Cy, Pres and Isla.

So thirsty!

Craig decided he thought he could take the boys knee boarding if they wanted to try.  They said no to start, but Presley warmed up to the idea and decided to give it a shot!  Look at him go!

After Pres went, Cy decided to give it a try!

They did great (so did Craig!  I know he was exhausted!)

Saturday morning Cheerios with Pop :)

My parents left Saturday morning to go see Jessica in Tyler and we headed off to a play date at the splash pad!

It was really overcast and in the upper 70's... Which for us Texans is cold... Especially at a water park!

They had a snow cone cart set up for us :)

Let's just say Emalyn really really liked her first snow cone!

Oh that's cold!

Look at this attitude...

I couldn't find her anywhere after lunch... Guess where she was!?

Saturday afternoon, one of the anesthesia attendings invited the residents and their families to his house in Round Rock for a BBQ swim party. We had so much fun... Got to know some of the other residents better and had some great BBQ!  Emalyn loved their baby pool... We may need to get her one!  She got in the pool with Craig towards the end of the evening and was shaking she was so cold.  She didn't want to get out though!  When she finally did, I tried to take a picture of her blue lips :)

2 minutes before I took this, I watched this sweet girl pick her nose and eat her booger :/

Just another tired moment for little miss I guess.

Play date wagon ride with her new friend Hudson!

Cici brought 3 jars of homemade pickles when she visited last weekend and oh man does Emalyn love them!

If you don't know, emalyn is a super picky eater.  It is so discouraging when I make dinner and she refuses every piece of it.  That happens most of the time.  BUT tonight, Emalyn ate what I cooked!!  You can't really tell because her plate has a sandwich and other "backup" foods on it (I assumed she wouldn't eat it)... There is a picture of our leftovers below!  They are black bean crunchy tacos with a Greek yogurt based cilantro sauce... Delicious!  Emalyn pretty much likes any sort of sauce.

Monday night we went for a run before we put emalyn down for the night.  It was still sunny out, so emalyn needed to protect her eyes :)

Emalyn got to come to girls night for about 5 minutes before going down in the pack and play.  She sure had fun with these ladies!

One of my favorite things in the morning.  Bringing this cuddle monkey into my bed :)

Missing again.  Crocs, diaper and paci.  Nice.

Tuesday morning we had a play date at a new park.  Craig and I drove by it when we came to look at houses, but we hadn't been with Em.  It is called Whistle Stop Park and is right next to the train tracks, so you see several trains go by while you're playing!

Look how fun this looks!!

We met several friends there and we were a little short on swings... Had to double up.  Notice emalyn is smashing Harper up against the edge.

Isla thought this was great!

Sweet sweet friends.  Just love having watched all of these kiddos grow up so far!  These are all friends from med school who also moved to Temple!

She won't get off the bed once she is up there... But the food kept her busy for a long time!

I showed her what the oven mitt was for and she thought it was hilarious!

Here are a few pictures I found on Daddy's phone from the last couple months!

Daddy was in charge of bath.... Obviously :)

Mother's Day Out

When we found out we matched in Temple, I started looking into Mother's Day Out.  Several of the programs here were already full (Emalyn is number 9 on one wait list for a class of 8 :/), but I found a program that is switching from one to two days per week that I am really hoping she will get into for the Fall.  The director is SOOO great and Emalyn does so well in class on Sunday mornings.  She is having a really hard time being left right now, so that is a big deal!  Terri told me she would let me know if she ever had a spot in their summer program and she texted me yesterday to invite emalyn today!  I wasn't exactly sure how she would do, but she did GREAT!  She had a blast and when I asked if she wanted to go back she said yes!

We had to have a few phone conversations before we left for school.

I just couldn't get a good picture :(. I tried!

When I asked her to smile, this is what I got...

This is what I got to do this morning! I got some work stuff for thirty-one done at Starbucks.

Very odd to be without Emalyn!  I got to meet a friend for a pedicure and then we got on the road to head to lunch.  Going 60 mph, I felt a pop and my car started
To slow down.  I pulled over as quickly as I could which happened to be In a terrible place... On a bridge, partially blocking an exit.  Thankfully my friend turned around and came and sat a ways behind me so I could go sit in her car while I waited.  I called Craig, and since we were pretty close to The hospital, he came and changed it.  So hot, terrible spot, just miserable.  Love him for coming though.  I finished just in time to go get emalyn.  I was so thankful I didn't have emalyn with me (which I ALWAYS do).  God really had this whole day under control.

This is some of what Emalyn did at school.  They finger painted fish and planted seeds :)

I was really curious how she would eat when not strapped into a booster seat with mom standing near by and it was what I suspected.  The empty side of this container had grapes and raisins (I realize that Is really kind of doubling up, but I have a lot of grapes and she REALLY likes raisins!). All of her veggies are still there of course :)

The teachers even told me that emalyn took a nap... On a mat, on the floor, with other kids in the room... For like 30 minutes.  I am oh so impressed.  She definitely seemed tired, so I tried putting her down when we got home but she wasn't having it.  So... We loaded up and headed to Discount Tire.  I took a few activities (including the purse of course) and snacks and we made it through the wait without any melt downs!  Unfortunately, we had to buy a new tire :(

One last note for the day... This is how obsessed she is with the phone... This fish has small dots that are being used as a keyboard...

As you can tell, her bruise is yellowing... I think it's become more noticeable because people keep asking me about it :/.

I am so thankful for our one day at MDO and so hope that we will have many more!  I know is it such a good opportunity for Emalyn to be around other 1 year olds and be taught and instructed by someone other than me!
