2 Years Old!

Our little girl is 2!  I can't believe how fast the last two years have gone.  Every stage has been more and more fun and I am continually amazed at the things Emalyn is learning!  She is talking up a storm... literally never stops talking, and just started singing... all. the. time.  She knows all of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman!  She is still a super particular eater but I do think she is actually starting to grow a little! :)  We go for her 2 year appointment next week so we will see!

With Jessica's wedding in December and Craig on a really busy rotation, I was considering doing something really really low key for Emalyn's birthday, but who knew, she learned what a birthday party was and really wanted to have one! :)  It worked out perfectly because Craig had off the 14th (just a few days before Emalyn's birthday and NOT Jessica's wedding weekend).  So we rented out Gabrielle's gym here in town to celebrate!  She told us she wanted pink cupcakes at her party, so that is what we did!

We opened some family presents at the house before the party.  Mimi and Pop told her to close her eyes :)

I just love watching these two girls grow up together... and it's just beginning!

The most adorable cooking attire set ever!

The gym was so much fun!  Most of the pictures are blurry because Emalyn was running around like a mad woman, but here are a few!

We had our 'party' after play time and Emalyn was so excited!  She had been singing 'happy birthday to me' for a week, so the real deal was a big hit!

Emalyn and I drove to Boerne on the 18th while daddy was at work, so we celebrated with her on Tuesday evening.  She has loved checking the mail this month with all the birthday and christmas fun!

We made the big time parenting mistake of not putting this together before she opened it... she immediately wanted it put together and with both of us working on it, it still took 45 minutes!    Finally got it though and she loves it! :)

We love you sweet girl!  Happy birthday!

Thanksgiving Travels

Craig took his Step 3 Board exams on Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and took off the rest of the week, so we were fortunate enough to visit both sides of the family for the holiday!  We drove to Columbus on Wednesday morning and celebrated Thanksgiving with the family, Papaw Lesikar, and Granny and Papaw Lilie.

Emalyn and Papaw enjoyed some food down at the end of the table.

Papaw Lilie made the sweetest benches for Emalyn and Addison and gave them to them on Thanksgiving.  Emalyn uses hers 10 times a day.  She absolutely loves having something her size, especially made by someone so special.  Thank you Papaw!

Emalyn had to show Addison how to use the table she is going to borrow... one of Emalyn's favorite toys of all times!  Addison, however, is a bit further ahead in her motor abilities and is ready for it a little earlier than my short little sitter was!

Lots of attempts, but we did get a couple decent ones after Emalyn's fit!

Friday morning we drove to Castroville and spent the day hanging out with the family!

We (and the only thing I did was hold the strands from the ground) helped hang Christmas lights on the houses out at the ranch and just hung out!

The guys went hunting and Emalyn went along to supervise feeding the deer.

And we got to visit with Grandmommy and Grandaddy before we headed back to Temple!  Such a wonderful Thanksgiving with so much to be thankful... 9 great grandparents and 4 grandparents for our sweet girl just one of many!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Aggie Game 2013... WHOOP!

In November, Craig had a weekend off that coincided with a home game, so we got to take a day trip to College Station for the day!  You may have seen our little Aggie excited about an Aggie game before, but man oh man was she excited to go to the game!

We pulled tickets with Jessica and John in the student section, so one of Jessica's awesome roommates agreed to babysit during the game... we did however take her up to campus for a few hours before the game!  She kept saying 'Yay!  We're at the Aggie game!'

'Look!  It's the Aggie game!'

Looking up at Kyle Field... 'It's so big!'

So fun to hang out with Aunt Jessica and Uncle John!

So much fun to take Emalyn to campus!

We got to stop by cousin Ryan's tailgate and Emalyn is a fan of the food and games!

Miss this!  We were actually there for the last home game and the last game before Kyle Field remodel started... kind of a cool thing!

It's been too long since we had been to a game!  So glad we got to do this in the midst of Craig's crazy schedule!
