Rainy Days!

It's been a bit rainy here for the past few days.  Daddy was off Sunday... Wohoo!  We went to church and enjoyed a few minutes outside before the first storm blew in.

We had planned to go out on the coat, but had to revise our plans.  We got out another busy bag activity.  There are cards to sort mouths, eyes, noses and accessories, and then you can place them all on the faces.  Emalyn really, really enjoyed sorting the pieces. (I don't know where that could have come from!)

Daddy decided to make homemade cookies.

Emalyn and her puppy dog got to help.  She was pretty excited!  I was in the bedroom and heard Craig yell 'No!'.  I came into the kitchen and found emalyn with an entire mouth full of cookie dough!  I told her to spit it out in my hand and she just shook her head. :). My child spits out most things she eats, but she knows when she's got something good!

We had such a great lazy day at home with daddy.  we did start to go a little stir crazy by the end of the day, so we took leftovers over to some friends and ate and shared daddy's cookies!

We have been in the house all day!!!!!

Monday, we woke up to rain and had to get creative.

I kind of think she is imitating someone here...

On Tuesday, emalyn drove her first vehicle!  She was obsessed!  So glad our friends have such fun toys!

Emalyn really, really likes babies!  She wants to help so, so bad.

Tuesday evening we watched another storm blow in... Such crazy weather, but I've kind of loved it!

Looking for birds.

This was some of our only outdoor time so far this week and emalyn took her digging very seriously.  I bought a bag of plastic shovels at a garage sale one time and emalyn will play with them for as long as I will let her!  As you can see, our flower beds aren't in the best condition, so we aren't too concerned with her efforts to dig up our beds.

Unfortunately, little miss must have gotten a little bored inside Tuesday evening, because Craig came into the kitchen and said 'hey have you been in our bathroom lately?'  This is what we found. Gross.

As Craig was fishing the soggy roll of toilet paper out of the toilet, he glanced in the trash and asked if I had thrown away Emalyn's socks.  I, of course, had not.  I think we are going to need to be closing doors around here!

We have really enjoyed the rain and its been so nice and cool!
