Snow Days!

It's a big week here for the Lilie family!  The forecast showed chances of snow and sleet but I wasn't holding my breathe... It doesn't usually happen!  Sure enough, about 5:00 yesterday evening it started sleeting!  Emalyn and I went out to see :).

It's so cold mommy!

A little later it started snowing!  Daddy and Emalyn saw snow for the first time!

We have the best daddy ever!  He collected two buckets full of snow to play with in the garage!

And showed emalyn how to build a snowman!  Emalyn has been truly obsessed with frosty the snowman the last two months.  She knows the whole first verse to the song and sings it several times a day.  I put away all of our Christmas books until next year and had to get it back out due to a total melt down about the missing frosty book!  So... Needless to say, emalyn was soooooo excited to build her own frosty!

I think daddy had a lot of fun too :)

Our little frosty.
After a little crying we convinced her to wear her mittens.  THEN she had fun touching it.

It was so cold outside mommy!
Back in December, we started looking at Craig's vacation possibilities.  We know he will need some time when baby girl arrives, but he really hasn't used but a couple days, so we decided to take a long weekend vacation in January!  So he took off today and Monday!  We talked about a bunch of different options for a vacation, our biggest desire vexing to drive somewhere and see snow.  We ultimately decided it wasn't worth the time and gas and decided to stay locals and I fun stuff with Em!  How cool that we got snow in Temple, TX tonight of all nights!

We woke up to even more snow!!

Our backyard.  That's an elementary school across the street with a covered playground :)

Frozen street.   There are two sets of tracks and we have two medical residents that live past us... We are assuming that's who got out!  Otherwise, not seeing many cars on the road at all!

Yay frosty is still alive!!!

So cool!

My little snow bundles :)

I was there too!

Our version of sledding.

Such sweet laughs!

Such a great start to daddy's vacation!

Baby Girl #2!

A lot of you already know this because I am so slow with my posts, but we have a new addition joining the Lilie family in May!  We are overjoyed to announce that we are expecting our second DAUGHTER May 7th!

Emalyn accompanied us to our first doctor's appointment... she walked through the clinic like she was on a mission!  She did pretty good during the sonogram, but was ready to go after a few minutes!  She kept taking her pretend keys to the door and saying she needed to go get the car :)

We got some great images of baby (at the time... just baby).  Everything looked great and right on track for 9 1/2 weeks!

We have been asking Emalyn whether she thinks she is going to have a baby sister or baby brother for a long time.  At first, we realized that whichever choice we gave her second is what she answered, but for several weeks leading up to our anatomy scan, she answered baby sister every time we asked.

Sure enough!

Great shot of her feet!

19 1/2 weeks.  The first picture I took of myself this pregnancy! My how things are different the second time around!

We did a little photo shoot when we got home.  I didn't plan the baby doll thing, but Emalyn absolutely insisted on having her sit with her.

We couldn't be more excited for sweet girl to be here!  I've continued to have good appointments and really love my doctor here!  We've been making lots of changes for miss Emalyn to prepare for baby girl and she has shown how stubborn she be once again!  I hope to post more about some of that soon!

2 Years Old!

Our little girl is 2!  I can't believe how fast the last two years have gone.  Every stage has been more and more fun and I am continually amazed at the things Emalyn is learning!  She is talking up a storm... literally never stops talking, and just started singing... all. the. time.  She knows all of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman!  She is still a super particular eater but I do think she is actually starting to grow a little! :)  We go for her 2 year appointment next week so we will see!

With Jessica's wedding in December and Craig on a really busy rotation, I was considering doing something really really low key for Emalyn's birthday, but who knew, she learned what a birthday party was and really wanted to have one! :)  It worked out perfectly because Craig had off the 14th (just a few days before Emalyn's birthday and NOT Jessica's wedding weekend).  So we rented out Gabrielle's gym here in town to celebrate!  She told us she wanted pink cupcakes at her party, so that is what we did!

We opened some family presents at the house before the party.  Mimi and Pop told her to close her eyes :)

I just love watching these two girls grow up together... and it's just beginning!

The most adorable cooking attire set ever!

The gym was so much fun!  Most of the pictures are blurry because Emalyn was running around like a mad woman, but here are a few!

We had our 'party' after play time and Emalyn was so excited!  She had been singing 'happy birthday to me' for a week, so the real deal was a big hit!

Emalyn and I drove to Boerne on the 18th while daddy was at work, so we celebrated with her on Tuesday evening.  She has loved checking the mail this month with all the birthday and christmas fun!

We made the big time parenting mistake of not putting this together before she opened it... she immediately wanted it put together and with both of us working on it, it still took 45 minutes!    Finally got it though and she loves it! :)

We love you sweet girl!  Happy birthday!
