Football/ 5K/ Family Time
I love football. Especially small town Boerne football! Emalyn and I got to go with my parents to the Champion game on Friday evening... Em's first football game ever! She was totally mesmerized by everything going on. She was pretty confident at first...
and then met Aunt Christie at the best place ever, Alamo Cafe, for dinner. Emalyn had been under the weather all weekend and this was the first thing she had really eaten In a couple days... Can you guess what it is all over her face?
I thought it could be a long night trying to get her to stay seated, but as soon as the band started playing and the team came out, this happened...
She was pretty terrified. It is pretty loud in person so I don't blame her!
When I picked out her outfit Friday morning I thought it was a great idea to put her in my old school colors, purple and white! Later, I was thinking about how cute it would be with my parents purple Boerne shirts and Emalyn's dress and remembered Champion High School is blue! Whoops!
She warmed up a little bit and cheered on the team... I do have to tell you she thinks every football team is the Aggies... So she was yelling 'Go Aggies!'
Dad and I had signed up for the Color Me Loco 5k run in San Antonio next weekend, but it got canceled due to low registration :(. So... We mapped out our own 5k through Boerne and ran it Saturday morning! My dad has just recently started running long distances without alternating with walking and I am proud to say we ran the whole 3.1 miles without stopping! Way to go dad! So proud of you!
Afterwards we took emalyn to the Farmer's Market. It was a little sparse since it is the end of the season, but we had a good time checking it out!
We had a wonderful lunch with Grandmommy and Granddaddy at the house and got to spend the whole afternoon with them! Love you guys and so glad you're home!
We headed off to church that evening...
swinging afterwards...

Catch Up
I got our the sensory tub I made for Em in San Antonio while she was sick to give us something to do! She had a ton of fun, but kept eating the rice! Like seriously... Large quantities of uncooked rice went into that kids stomach... So I had to follow through with my threat and take it away :/. I need to make another one to give us a non-rice option. For some reason, this kid has pretended to eat rice for months so this is just giving her an opportunity for pretend to become real! (Not that we don't give her real rice to eat).

Gig Em Aggies!! We had a fun lunch with the olers Saturday and the went home and watched some Aggie football while daddy worked!

Met daddy at chipotle for dinner this week... Emalyn carried her leftovers. They were pretty shook up :)

I keep saying I will take the time to do a post based, not on pictures, but just an update on life, but I haven't, so ill tell you all a little now! After signing Emalyn up for Mothers Day Out at a great program (First Baptist Temple), I decided to apply for an open teaching position and was offered the job! We had a few days of training in August and had our first day of school this past Tuesday! I am one of the 2 year old teachers (Em is in the 1 year old class) and really enjoying it! Such a blessing to see how much these littles can soak up at this age! I am so thankful for this opportunity to invest in these kids lives, work and learn from a great program, and help with some of our family's financial responsibilities!
Emalyn is really enjoying school! She has great teachers and I can tell that she is learning so much about being part of a group, sharing (hopefully this will continue to improve), and most importantly how much God loves her. She came home this week saying 'thank you Goooood... Thank you Gooooood.'
Craig is on MICU for the month of September which will be very busy, but he is enjoying it so far! He is currently on nights and Em and I came to Boerne to get out of his hair for a couple days while he tries to sleep during the day. A post about our visit soon!
