First Trip to the Zoo!

On Friday, Emalyn and I drove to Waco to the Cameron Park Zoo for the first time!  It was actually Emalyn's first trip to ANY zoo... So it was quite an outing!  Lindsay, Cy, Presley, Isla, and Lily, Zoe, and Caylee all went with us!  The zoo is really nice... Shaded most of the way!

I don't know why she wouldn't give me a decent face.

The parrots were imitating the kids... I think they got a kick out of it.

The bears were up and active when we walked by!  She doesn't look too happy, but I think it was just the heat.  She kept roaring when we talked about the zoo afterwards.

This zoo has an entire section dedicated to the animals of Brazos Valley.  Kind of neat!  

They had lots of rattlesnakes...

Coyotes...

Fish...

And tepees to represent the Indians that used to live in this area.  Emalyn thought this was pretty cool!

They have a neat little playground area with a treehouse and slide.  Emalyn does well with tunnels...

She approaches the edge of the slide and decided it little be a bit big for her...

Lucky Emalyn... Cy and Pres are always willing to help her get down!

Unfortunately, the safari animal exhibits were closed for repairs for the day, but we still had a great first trip to the zoo!  We got a zoo membership, so we will be able to go as often as we would like!
