Snow Days!

It's a big week here for the Lilie family!  The forecast showed chances of snow and sleet but I wasn't holding my breathe... It doesn't usually happen!  Sure enough, about 5:00 yesterday evening it started sleeting!  Emalyn and I went out to see :).

It's so cold mommy!

A little later it started snowing!  Daddy and Emalyn saw snow for the first time!

We have the best daddy ever!  He collected two buckets full of snow to play with in the garage!

And showed emalyn how to build a snowman!  Emalyn has been truly obsessed with frosty the snowman the last two months.  She knows the whole first verse to the song and sings it several times a day.  I put away all of our Christmas books until next year and had to get it back out due to a total melt down about the missing frosty book!  So... Needless to say, emalyn was soooooo excited to build her own frosty!

I think daddy had a lot of fun too :)

Our little frosty.
After a little crying we convinced her to wear her mittens.  THEN she had fun touching it.

It was so cold outside mommy!
Back in December, we started looking at Craig's vacation possibilities.  We know he will need some time when baby girl arrives, but he really hasn't used but a couple days, so we decided to take a long weekend vacation in January!  So he took off today and Monday!  We talked about a bunch of different options for a vacation, our biggest desire vexing to drive somewhere and see snow.  We ultimately decided it wasn't worth the time and gas and decided to stay locals and I fun stuff with Em!  How cool that we got snow in Temple, TX tonight of all nights!

We woke up to even more snow!!

Our backyard.  That's an elementary school across the street with a covered playground :)

Frozen street.   There are two sets of tracks and we have two medical residents that live past us... We are assuming that's who got out!  Otherwise, not seeing many cars on the road at all!

Yay frosty is still alive!!!

So cool!

My little snow bundles :)

I was there too!

Our version of sledding.

Such sweet laughs!

Such a great start to daddy's vacation!
